Rules

PVPFACTION is a hardcore PvP/Faction server: you fight, you betray, you get raided. The tone can be rough and the competition ruthless. However, anything that breaks the game (cheating, bugs, getting around the rules) and anything that targets the real person behind the username has no place here.

The rules apply everywhere: in game, in chat, in private messages, in voice, on the website, on the mobile app and on the official Discord. A sanction follows your Minecraft account and your website account.

By playing, you accept these rules. Not having read them excuses nothing. They may change: significant changes are announced, and the site asks you to accept them again.

No set of rules covers everything. Behaviour that follows the letter of a rule but clearly gets around its spirit can be sanctioned. When in doubt, ask the staff first: a question costs nothing.

Taunting an opponent, trash talk after a fight, crude language: tolerated, it is part of PvP. What is not: hounding a player (repeated messages, following them from one channel to another, mocking their appearance, family or private life) after they have clearly made it known it is enough.

Racist, antisemitic, homophobic, transphobic, sexist or ableist remarks, glorification of terrorism or crimes, and hate symbols are forbidden everywhere, including "as a joke" and including in the 18+ channel. Zero tolerance.

Threatening a player in real life (violence, hacking, disclosing information, abusive reports to their relatives…) is forbidden, even as a joke. In-game threats ("we're raiding your base tonight") are part of the game.

The 18+ channel, reserved for players who certified they are adults, has more relaxed moderation: swearing, insults between players trading banter and blunter humour are far more tolerated there than elsewhere. It remains a respectful space: harassment, hate and threats are forbidden there as everywhere. It is not a channel for sexual, pornographic or shocking content, which is forbidden across the whole server.

Sexual, pornographic or deliberately shocking content (gore, disturbing images or links) is forbidden everywhere: chat, 18+ channel, private messages, voice, signs, books, names and skins. Anything involving minors is sanctioned without warning.

Repeating a message, writing in caps over and over, flooding the chat with characters, links or commands is forbidden. Trade messages go in the dedicated channel, not in general chat on a loop.

Advertising another server, a third-party Discord or a commercial service is forbidden, in public and in private messages. Sharing your stream channel on your public profile is allowed; spamming it in chat is not.

Pretending to be a staff member, another player or the server (fake system messages, fake announcements, a username imitating a well-known player's) is forbidden.

Publishing or threatening to publish personal information about someone (real name, address, photos, school, private social media, IP address…) is strictly forbidden: it is doxxing. This also applies to information "found publicly".

Sharing a trapped link, a fake login page, a booby-trapped "cheat" program, or trying to obtain a player's password, two-factor code or session is forbidden.

Any cyberattack (denial of service, intrusion attempt, exploiting a flaw in the website, the API or the server) against PVPFACTION or against a player is forbidden and may be reported to the authorities.

Usernames, skins, capes, faction names and tags, banners and item names follow the same tolerance as chat, with two limits: nothing hateful and nothing pornographic. An inappropriate name is renamed or the faction disbanded.

What is forbidden in chat is also forbidden on a sign, in a book, on a map or in a build (hateful or obscene pixel art, messages targeting a real player). Such content is removed by the staff.

Joining a faction to spy on it, loot it or betray it (insiding), emptying a shared chest, switching sides mid-war: allowed, it is part of the game. Choose your members and permissions carefully. The staff does not refund a betrayal.

Raiding a base, even while its members are offline, overclaiming a faction that is too weak and traps (on your own base) are allowed within the server's mechanics. A successful raid is never reverted.

Anything built outside claimed territory can be destroyed or looted. Only the spawn, the server's protected areas (zaaps, graveyards, arenas…) and staff builds are off-limits.

Alliances go through the game's faction relations and respect their limits. Getting around those limits with a hidden alliance (several factions permanently fighting, raiding and defending as one) is forbidden. A one-off agreement against a common enemy is still allowed.

Creating empty factions, or factions run by alt accounts, to block land, inflate a leaderboard or get around a limit is forbidden.

Letting yourself be killed on purpose (by a friend, an alt or an arrangement) to boost a leaderboard, power, a killstreak or to cash in a bounty is forbidden.

Disconnecting, getting yourself kicked on purpose or closing the game during a fight to escape it is forbidden, on top of the combat tag's automatic penalty.

Repeatedly killing a player who just respawned, or luring them with a teleport request (TPA) to kill them on arrival, is forbidden. So is camping an enemy at the exit of a zaap or a protected area to stop them from leaving.

Getting around new player protection (trapping them, luring them into lava, getting them killed by mobs) to rob them is forbidden. Once their protection ends, they are players like any other.

Any client, mod or program that gives an advantage is forbidden: kill aura, reach, fly, speed, no fall, scaffold, ESP, tracers… Zero tolerance.

Seeing through blocks is forbidden, whether through a mod, a texture pack, a shader, a hijacked gamma setting or any other means.

Autoclickers, mouse or keyboard macros, scripts and bots that play for you (combat, mining, movement) are forbidden. Butterfly or jitter clicking by hand is allowed; a programmed mouse button is not.

Allowed: performance mods (Sodium, Lithium…), shaders, texture packs that reveal nothing, the server's voice mod, interface mods (inventory, HUD, zoom) and a minimap without entity radar or cave view. For any other mod, ask the staff. Detailed list on the wiki page about mods.

Any way of seeing what the game does not normally show you is forbidden: free camera, player or entity radar, displaying chests or ores, spotting bases through the terrain.

Exploiting a bug (item duplication, walking through walls, getting around protections, economic loophole) is forbidden, even "just to see". A bug reported privately to the staff, without having exploited it, is rewarded.

Deliberately building something to slow down or crash the server (massive redstone clocks, piling up entities, forced chunk loading) is forbidden.

Trying to fool, disable or probe the limits of the anti-cheat is forbidden. If you think you were flagged by mistake, play normally and contact the staff: false positives are checked by hand.

Automatic farms and staying AFK next to them are tolerated, as long as they respect the server's technical limits and do not rely on a program playing for you.

A farm that makes the server lag (too many animals, dropped items, active redstone) may be reduced or removed by the staff, without refund. Tell the staff before building a very large setup.

Trades between players are at your own risk: an in-game scam (item not delivered, fake price, broken deal) is allowed and the staff does not refund it. Use trusted middlemen and the faction bank.

Any scam that touches real life is forbidden: real money, gift cards, accounts, purchases on the website shop, fake staff "refunds".

Selling or buying items, in-game money, land, services (boosting, protection) or accounts for real money or any equivalent is forbidden (Minecraft usage guidelines).

Your account is personal: lending, sharing or selling it is forbidden. You are responsible for everything done with it, including by someone close to you.

An alt account is tolerated for farming or storage. It is forbidden to use it in combat, in raids, to pad a faction, to vote several times or to multiply rewards.

Coming back with another account during a ban or mute, or having someone else speak for you, is forbidden. The only way to dispute a sanction is the appeal page.

Everything forbidden in writing is also forbidden in voice. Screaming, saturating your mic, playing music or sounds on a loop (soundboard) to bother others is forbidden.

Streaming or recording your game, voice included, is allowed as long as the players present know it (tell them). Broadcasting someone's voice or words to humiliate or harass them is forbidden.

Watching a player's stream to learn their position, base or plans and use it in game is forbidden.

The team are volunteers. You may disagree with a decision; you may not insult, harass or threaten a staff member. A disagreement is settled through an appeal, not in chat.

Pushing for a rank, items, an in-game refund or a staff position is forbidden. Staff applications go through the website.

Report a problem from the game or the website, with evidence if possible. False reports, made to harm a player or swamp the staff, are sanctioned.

Staff members follow the same rules and must never favour their faction or friends. Abuse is reported privately to an administrator, with evidence.

For behaviour, sanctions go up step by step: warning, then mute, then temporary ban, then permanent ban. The staff adapts the step to the severity, and repeat offences move you up a step. The durations shown in these rules are guidelines.

The following lead to a permanent ban on the first offence: cheating in any form, serious hate, disclosing personal information, attacks on the server, phishing, evading a sanction and selling for real money.

Any sanction can be appealed from the website's appeal page, calmly and with your arguments. An accepted appeal lifts the sanction. Harassing the staff or reposting the same request does not move your case forward.

A purchased rank protects from no sanction. A justified sanction does not give the right to a refund of the current subscription period (see the terms of sale).
