Territory (claims)

Claiming chunks, what they cost, what they protect and how to give them back.

Updated on September 24, 2026 by joueur-1800bd0d2 min read

Your faction's territory is counted in chunks, 16 × 16 block squares running the full height of the world. Claiming a chunk protects it: other players can no longer build, break or open your chests there.

Claiming

CommandEffect
/f claimClaims the chunk you stand in.
/f claim <radius>Claims a square around you (radius of 30 chunks at most).
/f claim autoAutomatically claims every chunk you walk into; run the command again to stop.
/f claim line [count] [direction]Claims a straight line of chunks, by default in the direction you face.
/f claim fillFills a hole surrounded by your territory (25 chunks at most).
/f claim showLists your faction's chunks.

Who can claim? The leader, and the ranks that have the "manage claims" permission: co-leaders and moderators by default (see Ranks and permissions).

The rules

  • Power sets the limit: your faction cannot hold more chunks than its power. With 15 power, you can claim at most 15 chunks. See Power.
  • Your territory does not need to be in one piece: you can have several separate areas.
  • You cannot claim in the SafeZone, in the WarZone, beyond the world border, on an allied faction's land or on a peaceful faction's land.
  • Taking another faction's land is only possible when it holds more chunks than its power allows: that is overclaiming, explained in Raids and overclaiming.

What it costs

Each chunk is paid for by the faction bank, and each new chunk costs more than the previous one: $500 + $375 per chunk already owned.

Chunk claimedPrice of that chunk
1st$500
10th$3,875
25th$9,500
50th$18,875
100th$37,625

If the bank cannot pay, the claim is refused. The "Cheaper claims" upgrade cuts that price by 10, 20 then 30% (see Upgrades).

Keeping territory costs money too: an upkeep is taken from the bank every day, and the larger the territory, the higher it is. See Territory upkeep.

Giving land back

CommandEffect
/f unclaimGives back the chunk you stand in (/f unclaim <radius> for a square).
/f unclaim autoAutomatically gives back every chunk you walk through.
/f unclaim fillGives back a connected area.
/f unclaim allGives back the faction's whole territory.

Giving back a chunk refunds 70% of the price of the last chunk bought, paid into the bank.

What territory protects

  • Building and breaking: reserved for members with the permission, and for the relations your leader has allowed.
  • Doors, levers, buttons, containers: same logic, set in /f perm.
  • Endermen cannot move blocks there, and chorus fruit does not teleport you there.

What territory does not protect: explosions. TNT and creepers blow up your walls just like anywhere else; that is what makes raids possible. To guard against them, there is the shield.

Seeing your territory

CommandEffect
/f mapMap of the chunks around you, coloured by relation. /f map on keeps it updated as you walk.
/f mapheight <lines>Changes the height of that map.
/f seechunkDraws the edges of the chunk you stand in with particles.
/f claim bordersDraws the limits of your whole territory with particles (from the Confirmed Member rank).

When you enter a territory, its name and description appear on screen.
