Getting the End pass

The End pass is your ticket to the weekly fight against the Ender Dragon. It can't be bought: it is earned by finding a stronghold and completing its portal.

What you need

Eyes of ender are crafted from blaze powder and an ender pearl. Thrown in the air, they point towards the nearest stronghold, as in single player.

Claiming your pass

1. Find the stronghold's portal room.
2. Place an eye of ender in each of the 12 frames.
3. Stay within 6 blocks of the portal and open the hub with /end.
4. Click "Claim my pass".

The button only appears if you are near a complete portal and don't have a pass yet. If the portal doesn't have its 12 eyes, the message tells you how many are missing.

What happens when you claim

• you get your pass, for good: only one per player, and it can't be lost;
• the portal is consumed: the 12 eyes are removed from the frames and the portal closes. The next player who wants a pass there will have to bring their own 12 eyes.

Claiming your pass empties the portal for everyone. If your friends want theirs too, each of them will have to bring 12 eyes: bring enough for the whole group before setting off.

With your pass, you can join the queue for the next dragon fight: see /wiki/dragon-fight.

You don't need a pass just to visit the End: /end tp takes everyone there, at any time (/wiki/the-end).

/end info tells you at any time whether you have a pass.
