The five ranks

RankSymbolRole
Leader***Runs the faction. Has every right and is the only one who sets permissions.
Co-leader**The leader's right hand: appoints moderators, renames the faction, manages the shield.
Moderator*Handles day-to-day business: relations, description, titles, rules, missions.
Member+A confirmed player of the faction.
Recruit-A newcomer on trial. This is the default starting rank.

You can neither kick, promote nor demote someone of your rank or above: a moderator cannot kick a co-leader, a co-leader cannot demote the leader.

Promoting and demoting

CommandEffectWho can
/f promote <player>Moves the player up one rank, never to your rank or above.Whoever has the "promote" permission
/f demote <player>Moves the player down one rank.Whoever has the "promote" permission
/f mod <player>Makes the player a moderator, or removes that rank.Co-leader and leader
/f coleader <player>Makes the player a co-leader, or removes that rank.Leader
/f transfer <player>Hands over leadership; the former leader becomes co-leader.Leader
/f role default <rank>Rank given to newcomers (anything but leader).—

These commands also exist as /f role promote, /f role demote, /f role mod and /f role coleader.

Setting permissions: /f perm

/f perm opens a two-step window, for the leader only:

  1. choose who you are setting rights for: a rank of your faction (recruit, member, moderator, co-leader) or a relation (allies, factions in truce, neutrals, enemies);
  2. click each action: left click to allow, right click to deny, middle click to leave it undefined.

Relation permissions apply inside your territory: allowing "doors" to allies lets them open your doors, not theirs.

What you can set

CategoryActions
Territorybuild, break, use doors, buttons, levers and containers, use most items, Frost Walker, manage claims
Membersinvite, kick, ban, promote and demote, disband the faction
Travelteleport home, set the home, teleport to warps, set warps, fly (/f fly)
Bank and resourceswithdraw money from the bank, TNT bank, TNT fill, faction chest, spawners

A separate option, "pain build", hurts anyone who tries to build without the right to, instead of simply stopping them.

Starting settings

When a faction is created:

  • the leader has every right;
  • co-leaders and moderators have every permission;
  • members, recruits and all other factions have none.

First thing to do after creating your faction: open /f perm and give your members at least "build", "break", "doors" and "containers". Without that, they cannot do anything in your own base.

Reserved areas inside your territory

The leader can reserve a chunk for certain faction players with /f owner [player] ($15 each time): only those owners, and the leader, can build there. /f owner list shows the owners of the chunk you stand in. Handy to protect the storage room or the redstone workshop.

Titles

A moderator can give a member a title with /f title <player> [title] (32 characters at most), shown next to their name. /f title toggle hides or shows titles for you.
