Linking your Minecraft account
Connect your username to your website account in two minutes, with /lier and a confirmation code.
Contents
Linking your Minecraft account to your website account tells the website "this username is me". Your whole game history (stats, faction, sanctions, votes…) is then attached to your web account, and the player-only features unlock: messaging, faction channels, synced friends, inventory, voice chat, the full mobile app.
Linking happens in three steps: a code on the website, a command in game, then a confirmation code to copy back to the website. Going both ways guarantees you really control both accounts.
Step 1 — Generate a code on the website
- Sign in to the website.
- Open Settings › Linked accounts (or your profile, which shows the same card).
- In the Minecraft account card, click "Generate a link code".
The website shows you the exact command to type, with a button to copy it. The code is valid for 10 minutes.
Step 2 — Type the command in game
Join the server with the Minecraft account you want to link, and type:
/lier <code>
(aliases: /link, /sync). The server contacts the website and shows a
"LINK — CONFIRM ON THE WEBSITE" box with:
- the web account that requested the link;
- a 4-digit code, visible only on your game screen.
Step 3 — Confirm on the website
Go back to the website page you left open: it has detected your command and asks for the 4-digit code. Enter it and click "Confirm". In game, a message confirms your account is now linked to the PVPFACTION website.
Careful — Never share this 4-digit code. It proves you control the Minecraft account. If you see the linking box without having asked for anything, just ignore it.
If something goes wrong
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Invalid or expired code" | The code is over 10 minutes old or has a typo: generate a new one on the website. |
| "Please wait a few seconds before trying again" | You retried too quickly: wait a bit. |
| "Website unreachable" / "Linking unavailable" | The link between the game and the website is down: try again later. |
After linking
- Your display name on the website becomes your Minecraft username, and follows your renames.
- Your language is shared between the game and the website (see Changing your language).
- You can turn on your custom link
/@usernameand your public showcase: see Your public profile. - You can require your two-factor authentication in game too: see Two-factor authentication.
Unlinking your account
In Settings › Linked accounts, the "Unlink" button detaches your Minecraft account. A few rules, designed to prevent abuse:
- unlinking requires your password (and your two-factor code if it's on) — an account created with Discord must first set a password via "Forgot password?";
- your display name goes back to a generic one;
- you must wait 7 days before linking a different Minecraft account — relinking the same account is immediate;
- unlinking is impossible during a ban.
Unlinking deletes nothing from your game history: it stays attached to your Minecraft account.
Discord
The same Linked accounts page lets you connect your Discord account ("Connect Discord"), for the community and announcements. It's independent from Minecraft linking.
