The shield
Making your base immune to explosions a few hours a day, and what it costs.

Nobody can watch over their base 24 hours a day. The shield protects it during the hours when your faction is away: it starts on demand or every day at a set time, and is paid for from the faction bank.
What the shield does
While it is active, across your faction's whole territory:
- explosions are cancelled (TNT, creepers…);
- no player from outside the faction can break or place blocks.
What it does not do:
- it does not stop combat: people can still fight on your territory;
- it does not stop overclaiming: if your faction has less power than chunks, its edge chunks can still be taken (see Raids and overclaiming).
What it costs

If the bank cannot pay, the shield does not start.

The scheduled slot is paid each time it starts and counts towards the day's quota, just like a manual activation.
Schedule the shield for the hours when your faction sleeps or works, and keep enough in the bank to pay for it: a slot that cannot be paid for does not start.
The grace period
Not to be confused with the shield: the grace period is opened by the server staff, for everyone at once, for instance when a new map launches. While it lasts, no explosion happens anywhere and TNT cannot be placed. It is announced in chat when it opens and lasts 7 days by default.
