Creating your personal zaap

Placing your own portal, choosing who can use it, setting a toll and maintaining it.

Updated on September 24, 2026 by joueur-1800bd0d2 min read

Every player can place their own zaap: a portal connected to the network, near their base or at a strategic spot. You decide who can use it, and you can even charge for passage.

How much it costs

ItemValue
Number of personal zaaps1 per player
Base price1,000
Size surcharge100 per block of portal surface
Items to provide8 ender pearls
Portal sizefrom 2 blocks high minimum to 6 × 6 blocks maximum
Daily upkeep10 per day

Example: a portal 2 blocks wide and 3 high has 6 blocks of surface, so 1,000 + 6 × 100 = 1,600, plus the 8 pearls.

Creating your zaap

  1. Stand where you want it and type:

    /zaap player create <name>

  2. You receive a creation stick. Right-click a block to mark the first corner of the portal, then a second block to mark the opposite corner.

  3. A summary appears: name, dimensions, surface and total cost. Confirm to pay and place the zaap.

Names containing spaces are written in quotes.

Who can use it

Each zaap has an access mode:

ModeAccess
Publiceveryone
Protectedyou and the players on your allowed list
Privateyou only
CommandEffect
/zaap player setmode <zaap> <mode>Changes the access mode.
/zaap player share <zaap> <player>Adds a player to the allowed list.
/zaap player unshare <zaap> <player>Removes them.

Charging for passage

In public mode, you can set fees that other players pay when they use your zaap, then collect the accumulated income.

CommandEffect
/zaap player setfee <zaap> <amount>Sets the passage fee.
/zaap player collectCollects the income from your zaaps.

Maintaining your zaap

A zaap wears out: each trip and the mere passing of time lower its durability. Below 25%, you get warnings; below 10%, the zaap breaks down and stops working until it is repaired. Repairs are paid per durability point, from the management menu.

The daily upkeep is charged automatically. If it cannot be paid, your zaap loses durability, and it can be disabled if you stay broke for too long.

Always keep a little money aside for upkeep: a broken zaap earns nothing and is of no use to your friends.

Managing your zaap

CommandEffect
/zaap player listLists your zaaps.
/zaap player info <name>Information (mode, fees, durability, uses).
/zaap player manage <name>Management menu (repairs, upgrades, appearance).
/zaap player delete <name>Deletes your zaap.

All these commands also exist in the short form /pzaap <action>. The management menu also offers upgrades and teleport animations to buy (/zaap shop).
