PVPFACTION Voix on your computer — installation, pairing, global push-to-talk, overlay and updates.

Updated on September 24, 2026 by joueur-1800bd0d2 min read

PVPFACTION Voix is the computer app for proximity voice chat. Its big advantage over the browser: a global push-to-talk, a key captured even while you're in the middle of the game, in full screen. It also shows a small overlay and warns you about important events in your faction, even with its window closed.

For how voice itself works (range, who hears you, quality), see Voice chat.

Installing the app

Download the version for your system on the website's Download page:

SystemRecommended fileNote
Windows 10 or 11.exe installerthe .msi is for deploying to several machines
macOS 11 or later.dmg disk imageopen it and drag the app into Applications
LinuxAppImagemake the file executable, then run it; .deb and .rpm also exist

Each file comes with its SHA-256 fingerprint, to check it hasn't been tampered with.

Linking the app to your account

  1. Launch the app and click "Get a code".
  2. The website's authorisation page opens in your browser (otherwise: Settings › My devices on the website). Copy the code shown by the app and approve.
  3. Go back to the app: it signs in on its own.

The app gets "Voice + game info" access: it joins voice chat under your identity and reads your player and faction, but can neither write messages nor act on your behalf. You can revoke it at any time in Settings › My devices.

Talking: the three modes

ModeHow it works
Push-to-talkyou talk while holding the key (F8 by default)
Auto-detectthe mic opens when you speak
Open micthe mic stays open all the time

The push-to-talk shortcut is global: it works even when the app window isn't in front. Change it in Settings (Capture button, then press the key you want). If the key is already taken by another app, the previous shortcut stays active and the app tells you.

Overlay and notifications

  • In-game overlay: a small mic badge, always on top, to see whether you're talking. If you turn on game info in the overlay, it also shows your faction and its power, your health and hunger, and an alert when a member is killed, a war is declared or power drops.
  • System notifications: bounty placed on your head, war declared or ended for your faction, faction disbanded — even with the window closed.
  • Notification area: the icon's tooltip shows the number of players online and the state of your mic.

Closing or minimising

When you close the window, the app asks you to choose:

  • Minimise to the notification area: shortcuts, voice and notifications keep working;
  • Quit the app: everything stops, voice included;
  • Cancel.

Tick "Remember my choice" to stop being asked; you can change it later in Settings.

Updates

The app updates itself: when a new version is available, it offers "Install and restart" (or "Later"). Every update is signature-checked before being installed: an update whose signature isn't valid is refused. You can also check manually in Version and updates.
